We would like to give a very warm thank you to the Dow administrative assistants of the Great Lakes Bay Region. Each year, they host an annual day of giving, and this year, they selected hats, mittens, and gloves as their items for collection. They chose MCESA as one of four organizations to donate the items to for distribution.
Their day of giving culminated on November 13, and on Thursday, November 14, the items were delivered to MCESA's Kim Clark and Krystal Kozuch. The Dow team brought two large bags of donated items ranging in sizes for various ages (some items even beautifully handmade) that will be distributed to students across our organization to help keep them warm throughout the upcoming winter season.
We are very thankful for their generosity! #mcesabettertogether

MCESA Post Secondary/TRAILS and SK-12 students participated in a pumpkin smash this afternoon in Miss Mandy's PE classes, which not only is a fun activity for students, but also a way for many staff to get rid of their carved or whole pumpkins from Halloween! Before the big event, students spent time measuring and gathering information on each pumpkin. #mcesabettertogether

Tomorrow kicks off Holiday Open House in Downtown Midland! During this event, shoppers can admire and register to win uniquely decorated holiday wreaths from businesses like this one pictured that has puzzle pieces that were designed by MCESA Post Secondary students. Our students had a great time making this and enjoyed participating. You can find this fun wreath at Pizza Baker, LLC. #mcesabettertogether

The students in Mr. Dishaw’s classroom recently conducted a mock student election with many of the classrooms at MCESA. The students learned that voting is a private choice that we are fortunate to make. They used the results to construct a pictograph as a way to display the data collected. After the election, the students are going to compare the results of the election with their own ESA results.

As a reminder, tomorrow, November 5 is a professional development day for MCESA staff. There will be no school for students.

Last week, Northwood University students stopped by Longview Early Childhood Center to rake leaves on Go MAD Day, or "Go Make A Difference Day." Thank you, Northwood, for helping making a positive impact in our community!

We hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween! Here are some photos from our MCESA Halloween festivities yesterday - SK-12 at MCESA even had a Disney theme! 🎃
