Please see the message below from Superintendent John M. Searles to staff on November 16, 2021 regarding COVID-19 updates:

Hello, All:

I hope this message finds you and your family doing very well.

As a reminder, when around others, all ESA employees are required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.

If you are unable to work due to illness, COVID or otherwise, you must use sick time in order to be paid.  Likewise, if you are required to quarantine, you must use sick time in order to be paid.  If you are a close contact and fully vaccinated, you do not need to miss work if you are COVID tested as required.  For questions regarding exposures, testing, quarantining, etc., please feel free to reach out to our registered nurse Rae Eitel or Human Resources Director, Kim Stoll.

Please get vaccinated.  Beginning January 4, 2022, all ESA, ETH, and ITH employees will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or submit proof of a negative COVID-19 test every seven days.  We hope to be able to provide testing to those who choose not to be vaccinated, but the ESA is not required to do so and it will depend on the availability of tests.  In the coming weeks, we all will be required to submit forms related to vaccination status, proof of vaccination, notice regarding the new requirements, etc.  We will be sending additional information as it becomes available.

And, please remain patient.  I know that everyone is under undue stress because of many factors in our world right now.  Hang in there and know that so many people are counting on you because you make a difference in their lives.

Thanks for reading,

J.
