WHAT ARE SCECHs?
State Continuing Education Clock Hours, or SCECHs, are credit hours earned through state approved in-service, workshops, trainings, or conferences. These credits are used for the renewal of selected certificates issued by the Michigan Department of Education.

- School Administrator
- Provisional Teaching Certificates who meet the criteria outlined on the Requirements Page.
WHERE ARE SCECHs LOCATED?
Educators can view SCECHs and other professional development hours on the Michigan Online Educator Certification System’s Secure Central Registry also known as SCR.
HOW DO I ACCESS MY ACCOUNT?
Evaluatrions and transcripts are matched to your account through your Personal Identification Code (PIC). This is a mandatory requirement to receive SCECHs through MOECS. For instructions on how to register please visit the MOECS website.
HOW DO I RECEIVE SCECHs?
The SCECH coordinator upload qualifying participant records to SCR. An automated email is sent to each participant with instructions to complete an online evaluation. SCECHs are processed when the evaluation has been completed and matched to your PIC number.
ARE SCECHs THE SAME AS CEUs?
No. Generic CEUs cannot be used toward the renewal of the certificates and do not meet administrative continuing education requirements.
